Speed Up the STROBJCVN Routine When Converting to V5R1

Please run WRKSYSSTS and check your pool sizes. If you
have an "Interactive" pool and it is too small, you
may want to temporarily "borrow" memroy from your BASE
POOL (pool 2) before you run STROBJCVN. However, don't
forget to return your "borrowed memory" before you
restart you SAP R/3. Or your SAP performance will
suffer.

All you have to do is to write down the pool size of
your interactive pool and make it larger by overwrite
it. Then set it back to the original size before you
restart your SAP R/3. The memory you take will be from
the BASE Pool and the memory you return will go back
to the BASE pool.

If you are not familar with the pool names, press PF11
twice when are on the WRKSYSSTS screen. Then, you will
see the pool names on the rigth hand side of the
table.

Please read section 14.6.2.3 of OS/400 Work Management
manual if you need more informaion regarding memory
related performance problem. The title of this one
page section is, "Using the WRKSYSSTS Command to Find
Problems with Main Storage Performance". I have an old
book (v4r4), the section number may be different if
you are viewing it from the web site.

Hope this help!
