Homogenous system copy - EBCDIC 4.6C onV5R1 - copy P01 back to TST
Did you do "prep work" and follow 392165 and apply all the V5R1 patchesprior to starting?
This was so ugly; I'm ready to hang up my Basis shoes

Doreen: we just brought up a test copy of our production SAP system on
V5R1 without incident. I used CD 51010778. Only problem that I've seen
so far was that SAPOSCOL wouldn't start until I granted *USE authority
to some system objects.
Hmm... Kinda makes me think that maybe WE did it wrong!

Has anyone gotten thru this on a V5R1 box?
We've performed this process with 4.6C on V4R5 without event - but V5R1
added some "interesting challenges"
1st issue may have been that I used CD51010778 (which is 4.6C kernel and
not happy on V5R1) maybe should have used the kernel CD shipped with SR1
or SR2?
Fairly early in the process we received 'CPFA0AD received when executing
CHGPGP command' -
which then lead us to the famous 392165 "Known problems under V5R1" - we
patched CRTR3SYS; CRTR3INST; APYR3KRN; DBINCON; APYR3FIX in the newly
installed "4346COPT" kernel library.
Things got worse because the patched commands assume 46D kernel and the
51010778 CD was the 46C kernel; at that point I applied a 46D kernel
patch lvl 1124 library to the newly installed SID and restarted. Found
that even with a 46D kernel patch lvl 1124 CRTR3SYS; CRTR3INST;
APYR3KRN; DBINCON needed fresh patches from OSS Marketplace.
It was constantly 1 thing after another to get the <SID> rebuilt
I must have done something fundamentally incorrect from the beginning
(like the wrong CD as input) if anyone has the magic answer - please set
me straight!
Thank you !
Doreen
