My apologies, Franz. The default IS 8192. I was looking at the MTU of the
default route, which is 576. I still need to change this to *IFC. Do you
think it will be safe to change the TCP buffers to 1MB without adversly
affecting network over the LAN and WAN?

default(576)?? CHGTCPA says, that default is 8192, which is our setting.

I read in one of the "redbooks" that I could set this value to 1MB,
but
have been warned that this could cause network traffic problems, so
have
left it at the default (576). Is it safe to set it to 1MB?
