Reorganize for R3<SID>DATA
Hi Jim et All,now what would happen if you would change everything to re-use deleted records?
I know that could have nasty consequences if you need records in arrival
sequence, but that is a rare event.
Any thoughts on this one?

An IPL clears the "QRPLOBJ" library and gets back temporary space, but files
aren't reorganized until a RGZPFM is performed, the last that I knew.
We built a program that went against the same file that transaction DB02 uses
for showing deleted records. That saved having to generate a list with the
number of deleted records and let us give thresholds against total number of
records or minimum percentage of deleted records for files that we wanted to
delete.

Ernst,
one of the things you need to do after deleting anything from the AS400 or even
Reorganizing large files, is an IPL. By performing an IPL this reclaims all the
deleted or reorganized space on the 400.
