Status of OS/400 V5R1
We got no official response from IBM. The closest that we got was "we'veextended support in the past, but we can't guarantee anything on V5R1".
We've been testing on V5R1 and weren't prepared to go with V5R2, so our 740
3-tier to 840 2-tier upgrade was done with V5R1.

Hi all!
I read at www.4soi.de that support of release V5R1 ends in May 31st,
2002. Some months ago, many people was endorsed a manifest for
extending support.
We are planning a hardware upgrade for our iSeries, but not for OS.
There are a known issue in V5R2 for external storage which can cause
lost of performance (SPD x PCI).
Anyone has more information about these issues?
