Xseries using the AS400 Disk

Hi Ramon,

What happens, when you disable the token-ring for a while ? Does it still use
the token-ring adress?
Did you ask NT Network people, how to influence this behaviour ?

My last idea would be: Remove both adapters logically. Configure the Ethernet
one first, test this - it should work.
Configure then the other one and hope it stays OK.

Regards

Volker

Subject: Xseries using the AS400 Disk

Hi,

We have IBM Xseries servers and these servers are using the AS/400 disk
storage. Our setup is IBM Xseries servers has to NIC cards; one tokenring
and one Ethernet. The tokenring is only use to talk to the AS/400 for
managing the disk and the Ethernet card is connected to our network. The use
of these servers are for APO live Cache and Application Server. The problem
is every time we ping the hostname on the local host we received the IP
address of the tokenring card not the Ethernet Card. We add the hostname on
the host file and we received the same result. Are there any suggestions on
how we can make this server to use the Ethernet card.

Operating System: Windows 2000 with service Pack3

Thanks
