Multiple IP adresses for Iseries (SAP-Systems)

Hi All,



If you have more then one SAP system on your box, and want to be able to
"shut down" one system (or even a group of users) for access this is
possible in this way. Just have multiple IP numbers, for each group or
system and let the users access the server/system(s) through the different
IP numbers.



You will still be able to connect to the different systems with different IP
numbers.



Remember though one IP number must be master of the SAP system - your SAP
system will not start if no interface is up and running.



(I my selves had this problem on a test box recently - where I after a while
found out that the hub I used was not working)

Hi Klaus and Alberto,

thanks for your fast response.
Though I have only one adapter at present I added an additional IP adress in
cfgtcp pointig to the same resource and....it works fine!!!!! Thanks,

No problem,



I use local for local users, and an official one for connection to the bank
one is Ethernet and one is T/R



But actually I can from local connect to both

Hi group,

happy new year to all!

Has anybody of you experience with multiple IP adresses for one SAP-Server?
The goal is to connect from remote with another IP adress than the installed
local one.
