STROBJCVN Question
Hi Christine,when we did the upgrade from V4R5 to V5R1 (running R/3 releases 3.1i and
4.0b), it was pretty easy. There has been only two major things to take care
for:
1. If you are running 3-tier environment and you use Opti Mover instead
of Opti Connect to operate your optical server connections, it will not run
any longer - under V5R1 you HAVE to install Opti Connect (Product 5722SS1
Opt. 23, it should be part of your V5R1 software package). This problem hit
us totally unprepared because it wasn't metioned anywhere before, but
finally we made it to be up and running on monday night (thanks to THIS
great forum!!!)
2. After upgrade and BEFORE the first start of the SAP system you must
run STROBJCVN LIB(R3<sid>DATA) OBJTYPE(*FILE) once for each of your
R/3-systems. This will take several hours, so better run it in batch mode
(on our site it took about 5 hrs for a 600 GB database).
Otherwise it was an upgrade "as usual". So don't be too much worried. Just
check SAP note 392165 ("known problems under V5R1/V5R2") for latest updates.

Hello Gang,
Was wondering if someone could please be so kind and tell me which
libraries
need to be specified for the STROBJCVN command after an OS upgrade?
Just
SAP libraries or do *ALLUSR? Also, should I just be concerned with
doing
the files, all pgms, or do a *ALL in the object type field. Thanks
for the
input!!! I'm really worried about doing my 1st OS upgrade this
weekend!!
