Solution Manager & WEB WAS

We installed SM on WAS 6.1 on Win2k/MSSQL. The installation of WAS was
straightforward and well documented.

Solution Manager on the other hand, is the complete opposite. While the
initial installation of the add-on in SAINT went fine, that's where it
stopped. Our "half-day enabling session" stretched over 2 weeks between
notes, transports, and patches that had to be applied both to the SM
system as well as our production system.

It would appear that it now isn't even working as was intended after the
initial setup session. We also have found that everything we currently
need is available over OSS and/or Service Marketplace.

I am in the process of installing WAS620 / SM2.2 with SAPDB on a win2000
PC.

One of these days I will get it right. I am a experienced BASIS person
on
Iseries,
How difficult can it be to install it on a PC?? What a humbling
experience.

Kind of reminds me of the early days of installing sap on the AS400.

Anyway, I am getting close and looking forward to see what SM can do for
us.
