Paging Memory and Performance

Hi Group,

Over the weekend I quadrupled the following two PRD instance parms
(rdisp/PG_MAXFS and rdisp/PG_SHM) so that I could alleviate some of the
Memory_No_More_Paging errors I was receiving and also, so that three
particular month end jobs would not be cancelled by the system because of no
more paging memory errors. The parms were originally at a value of 32768
and I made them 131072. Since doing this, the three month end jobs have
been running continuously since February 8th at 7AM EST. I talked to the
user who runs these jobs each month and in the past she would have to break
down the job and run it for seven hours each day for 5 days to completely
process the needed information. The plus is that the jobs have not been
cancelled automatically by the system because of no more memory paging but
on the other hand, the jobs should not be taking this long to complete. My
question is this, did me changing the Memory Paging instance parms cause
other performance problems which is making these jobs run this long? Thanks
in advance for everyone's input.

Regards,
Christine
