Yes, we have the disappearing history quite often. Once in a while
the user accidentaly turns the option off. But usualy the history
just stops working. The two things I do to get the history working
are:
1. Within the SAP GUI options, ensure the history is turned on.
2. Delete the current history files and let the system rebuild them.
The history files are located in the SapWorkDir and have the names
SAPHistory<username>.MDB. Delete this file or delete all files within
the SapWorkDir while no SAP session exist. Then SAP rebuilds the
history files during logon. The SAPWorkDir location is listed in the
SAP options on the same "Local Data" tab, same as the option for
turning History on/off.
I have no idea why the History decides to stop working but it does.
We are running SAP 4.6C and using GUI version 4.6D, 610 and 620. All
three GUI versions have problems with the History.
