Hi Craig,obviously, the system is using a corrupted kernel.
As you are using ASCII, you should at least use 1166 as from from the codepage
conversion CD.
I would recommend, to apply 1444 in the meantime. If you arew lucky, the problem
disappears then, because it should be introduced because of the SAPSTART patch.
