Hi Christine,
we are on V5R2 and we use the ECA too. As said before the configuration ist
a part of IBM hardware support.
We use it for automatic problem reporting (WRKPRB) to IBM and PTF download.
But the PTF's were not applied.
ANd if your system is managed well there will be not PTF's to download.
But this is only for the automation of the reporting. If you only need a
connection to IBM you only have to configure your ECS line.

Hi Group,
I was wondering if anyone on from the group uses the Electronic Service
Agent that comes with V5R1? I have the PTF's applied that correspond with
the agent and I'm in the middle of configuring it, but I'm wondering if the
service agent is a product I must use in order for my machine to dial out
to
IBM in case of problems? Thanks in advance for the input.
