text elements suddenly empty (one large program)
We have a problem with disappearing text symbols in one large program.This program is used in batch (it is an interface program).
It contains statements like:
concatenate 'W' text-016 'Pallet:' prev_pallet 'Specie:'
i_matnr-matnr+1(3) into i_tline-tdline
separated by space.
The symptom is, that suddenly the values of all text symbols, e.g.
text-016, are empty.
This behaviour is apparent from the data that the program produces. It
can also be observed in the debugger.
When we look at the texts using txn SE38 everything looks normal,
though.
Re-generating the program does not seem to help.
One cure that does help is, to re-import the entire program (an R3TR
PROG transport).
This behaviour cannot be reproduced at will.
It has occurred twice in two weeks -
since we upgraded our kernel to patch level 969 (4.0B_COM).
This is our Production system, on OS/400 (iSeries, previously known as
AS/400).
We have some swaps in the program buffer.
(current abap/buffersize = 400000 - as recommended in OSS-note 123418)
