Is anyone using an output management solution (like DAZEL?)
I have seen installations with an Output Management System,but they had an OMS because of the need for very complex lay-out in
the output documents and/or high volumes of printing.
If it's just a matter of "problems with printers" I would recommend
the following:
a. In SAP, define your printers with 'access method' 'C' (on OS/400 or
Windows) or 'L' (Unix). Such a definition refers to a print queue that
exists on the SAP server itself (at the level of the operating
system).
b. In the operating system (of the SAP server) define such a queue. It
should accept print requests over the TCP/IP LPD protocol. (On OS/400
this is an OUTQ.)
c. That queue should refer to a queue on a print-server (preferably)
or to a network printer.
