Long running batch job
Hi Flemming,we have the same problem here. As a first workaround we use a CL-program
which scans the msgq QSYSOPR for message CPF377F ("request for save while
active operation prevented due to pending commits..") while the backup job
is running. If this message gets found, the program triggers a NT-tool which
sends an SMS to my mobile phone. Then I log on to the iSeries, cancel the wp
and restart the backup job. It's not a pretty smart solution by now, but at
least it works.

We had the same problem in the past. I created a program which
monitors if wp-s run through the backup and when they do ends the wp-s.
I am using during the backup an operations mode which excludes
background processing.
