Two app servers different paths
Hi Gary, you are right. In the 825 you have to point to the 1GB IP Adress of the 830. You
could do this with a host entry on the 825. In order to have really effect, you
might want to put the GB-Adapter into a different sub-net-mask than the 100MB
adapter.
On the SB1 everything stay the same. But, I think, QSOC with the APIA Jobs will
occur on the DB-Server which is the 830. So, I'm pretty sure, that you will need
this product OptiConnect on the 830 and most likely on the SB1 as well.
On the 825 you will have to set the following parameter in order to run it via
TCP/IP:
dbs/db4/opticonnect = 0
Be sure, that you do all actions, that are described in the notes 484548 +
450351
Regards
Volker

Subject: Two app servers different paths
Hi list, I am installing 2 new machines 1 825 and 1 830.
The 825 will be an app server and the 830 will be a new DB. I also have a
SB1 that I will keep as a second app server.
The 825 and 830 will have two ethernet cards one for the world and 1 1gb for
app serving (Back end).
The 830 will also have opticonnect hardware and software at V5R2M0 for the
SB1.
2 questions.
In the 825's profiles how do I tell it to use the 1gb interface?? Do I
create a host name for the ip on the 1gb interface?
For the SB1 will I still have the QSOC subsystem? And do I need to change
the profiles?
I have purchased the 5722SS1 Option 23 for the SB1.
Thanks Gary
