Client Copy - 84hrs and running

Hi Doreen,

that's really pretty long.

You could gather a SQL trace with ST05 for this "user" and have a look how long
it takes to complete the single requests, because I think, that we are using a
lot of single SQLs instead of one large statement.
If we should use one large statement here, you could find out this statement
with the command DSPCURSQL, which is available via a note. Then it could be a
problem, that we are having a problem with a large commit-boundary here. If this
really should turn out, you should ask us again BEFORE killing any job, because
this could take very long then.
Do you have very high page-faults ?

Regards

Volker

It is still running - according to DSPJRN it's on tables VBFA & S510;
started this May 3rd at 20:30.

And yes, it's a brand new client

Hi Doreen,

I had a similar problem with table KOCLU except ours was a remote
client copy (two systems on the same box). It cost me Labor day
weekend plus some in 2001. There is a note about using r3trans to do
some of the tables. I think you have to edit some table to prevent
the copy from trying to do them also. The problem I had is that I
didn't know the worst table until I ran the copy.

I'm assuming you are not copying into an existing client (IE,
deleting and copying as you go)?

Craig.
