Anybody has LPAR QfileSvr.400 and Virtual LAN with LPAR

Hi Jim, thanks for your answer...

Imagine this situation... you have two box (1.-PRD 2.-
DEV) and each box with two ethernet cards. OK. You
configure the connection for the net with one ethernet
card on each one, and you wnat use the second card for
the transport system.

Yours system names are SYSPRD and SYSDEV, but you
creates the QFileSvr.400/VRTPRD in SYSDEV and
QFileSrv/VRTDEV for use the VLAN 1Gb.

My question:

What System name you would put in the commnad
CHGR3SHLOC?

I hope that you understand the example.

Ferando Plaza.

We have something similar:

- we have one box LPAR'ed with a controlling
partition, DEV/TST on a partition, SBX on another
partition, and high-availability on another.

- we have another box LPAR'ed with a controlling
partition and PRD on another partition

We wanted /usr/sap/trans on or near the PRD box, but
wanted to isolate DEV/TST from PRD, for testing
purposes. So we installed the transport directory on
the controlling LPAR of the PRD box.

We reference the transport directory from the PRD
partition over the virtual LAN as "SYSTEMV", even
though "SYSTEM" is its real hostname.

I hope this helps!

I'm sure that somebody has LPAR. In this case anybody
use the Virtual
LAN for transports???
