SAPOSCOL

Hi Erik,

I'm sure that is the best plataform, here the others SysAdmins are allways
with problems, sometimes we have problems too but normaly are SAP issues
jejeje but almost never Iseries problems...... we have 4 Iseries that still
only runs with own RPG programs this work 7x24 and we only stop it to put
PFT's or upgrades.

Other important question is........ You have one issue with SUN machine for
example, you call SUN support, they say that maybe it's a Solaris problem,
Solaris say 'ohh no no' problem comes from Oracle, Oracle 'we are sure that
you Apache are not pretty customize' and you calling calling and lossing
lossin time......

I work with AS400 since 1998 (no AS400 jeje in 1998 was S38 'really it
really was Jurasik jeje) and I listening the same song 'Green screens are
going to disappear, AS400 die'......

Iseries forever!!!!!

David

Same here David,

Our platform isn't only good it's simply the best. People who criticize it
simply never worked on iSeries or are plain jealous.
I simply reply to them that this is stable, that never crashes and doesn't
require a DBA.

U'r welcome!!!!

It's important to help us, I don't know what happen out of Spain but here
AS400 (or Iseries) are allways criticized by consultants and lot of people
in this little world, it seems we come from Jurasic, here everybody marry
Oracle, I don't know if other plataforms are better or worst, in my company
are NT's, Sun-Solaris, AIX too and everybody has problems, but I'm really
sure that our plataform it's really a good one.

Why we are the ugly of the film???

Thanks a lot for all...

Thank you very much David,

I had a hunch this was my problem but since it is no longer possible to
download SAPOSCOL from the marketplace I decided to explore other avenues
until the new kernel CD gets here.

I just received the new kernel CD and applied it and now my SAPOSCOL works
perfectly.

Many thanks to everyone who responded,

Hi Friends.

Time ago we have the same issue, and it was only a release problem, Kernel
patch and Saposcol patch wasn't compatible. We was fighting some days, we
put PTF's too, incidence with IBM and SAP, etc, and finaly it was this
litlle thing. I now it's a typical Support solution jeje, but try to put
the last kernel & saposcol patch.

I hope it can help U.
Best Regards.

Hi John,

I verified the authorization list R3ADMAUTL as you suggested.
I also Installed the following PTF's (MF29911, SI07302, SI07443, SI07653,
and SI08620).
In addition, I verified the authorization on QPMWKCOL and QPMLPFRD
according
to OSS note 175852 (as suggested by Jean Francois Quinet.)

However SAPOSCOL still says "shared memory not available".
Would you have any additional suggestion?

Regards,

Make sure you check the authority problem:
Heres is a possible solution you can try SAP found the problem on the
customer system. The authorization list R3ADMAUTL was not set correctly.
SAP/Customer changed it this way.

1) Removed QSECOFR *ALL X
2) Changed *PUBLIC from *USE to *EXCLUDE
3) Added R3OWNER *ALL X

The SAPOSCOL can now be started normally via transaction ST06.
The SAPOSCOL can also be started by using this command instead
of transaction ST06.
CALL PGM(<kernel lib>/SAPOSCOL PARM('-l')
