Hotpackage level in a 4.0B prior to SAP Enterp eise upgrade

When you upgrade, you will be asked if you want to include support packages
(bind them) into the upgrade. The queue calculator will then check to see if
the support packages you are binding are at least equal to the the hot package
level of your current unupgraded (is that a word?) system. If you choose not to
bind any support packages (not a good idea) the queue calculator will warn you
if the upgraded system will be at a lower level. You will then have the
opportunity to change your selection or continue with a lower level (again, not
a good idea).

By the way, you can't go directly from 4.0B to 4.7 if you are on iSeries. You
must first upgrade to 4.6B (no point) or 4.6C. Then you must perform the code
page conversion. Then you can upgrade the converted system to 4.7. It is
estimated that the core code of 4.7 is 98% identical in function and form to the
4.6C system. This assumes that the 4.6C system is current with support packages
and the 4.7 system is relatively current with support packages.

Best regards,
Alan

Subject: Hotpackage level in a 4.0B prior to SAP
Enterpeise upgrade

Hello, do you know what's the HP level requirement prior to achieve
an upgrade from 4.0B to 4.7 ? I've searching for SAP notes but no
hints so far. Thank you.
Ricardo
