-g would be the server host name e.g. saptest.pressman.com, bubba, 1.1.1.50,whatever the dns name is.
-x would be sapgwNN where NN is the system number e.g. sapgw01.
You can do a netstat option 3 on the iseries server to see the gateway service
(under local port)

I am trying to set up a call to startrfc so I can process my inbound EDI
docs. Two of the parameters for this program are -g for the gateway service
machine and -x for the gateway service. Using the RSPARAM program I looked
for the values to put into these parameters but did not find anything. Can
anyone tell me where I can find these values or if I have to set up the
gateway where I can find out how to do this?
