To "ASP 2" or not?
After having worked with SAP on iSeries now for 6 years, I am not seeinga benefit of keeping the journal receivers in a different ASP than the
rest of the environment.
I only see it as the following......
1. A disk drive configuration challenge
2. A bottleneck in performance when you don't have enough drives
assigned to the ASP
3. An operations challenge to make sure that the 2nd ASP doesn't
overflow - and when it does, making sure the overflow is recovered
In about 30 minutes, we are going to configure the disk drives (ASPs) on
new 870 & 890 - I'm thinking we can skip this whole 2nd ASP thing
Any thoughts?
