Has anyone implemented SAP in China
Hi Russ,are you opn 4.6C right now ? On EBCDIC ?
I would still say, that it might be the best to go the MDMP approach
then, even whenthis means more effort when finally going to real
unicode. Right now, the unicode tools are not fully available and you
would have to upgrade to 4.7 first and the the unicode conversion -
after you did the ebcdic to ascii conversion.
BUT:
Keep in mind, that MDMP means, that the same hex-representation will
mean different characters in the different codepages. So, it would be
essential, that you distinguishh the data in the different languages
lets say with company codes or so.
So, in the chinese company code ONLY english & chinese would be
allowed and no german and finish. In the other ones everything except
chinese would be allowed, because everything belogs to latin-1. Then
you are relatively on the save site for unicode later on.
