Need Input for RCLSTG
I think you DO need a restricted state to run RCLSTG, at least against thenormal storage pools. I think that you could CALL your CL from the console in
QCTL, but I'm not sure if scheduling it would work.

You can perform the IPL from any subsystem and it will work. Just make
sure you perform the RCLSTG before ending all the subsystems. RCLSTG
doesn't mandate an IPL, does it? You don't need to run RCLSTG in a
restricted state, either... Maybe you're doing more than just RCLSTG in
your maintenance window 🙂

Need Input for RCLSTG
Hello All,
I was wondering if the group would not mind giving me their respective
thoughts on whether or not they think the following would work:
I've just created a small CL program that will end all the subsystems
immediately, perform the RCLSTG command, then IPL the system. If I decide
to schedule this to run, I would have it run in subsystem QCTL since that
is the only subsystem that stays up when the system is in a restricted
state. Do you think my CL will work successfully?
