DLTR3PKG and SQL-package QSYS/QSQXDPKG

Peter

Yes It's a good idea to have this two package in QSYS in i.e. a savefile or
just copy them from another system in case of emergency.... You cant start
R3 without them. I have tried... This two are:

QSQLPKG2    *SQLPKG   QSYS
QSQXDPKG    *SQLPKG   QSYS

The reason, for my lose of one of them, was DLTR3PKG starts before R3
system was ended. Don't do it.

According to OSS-note 93503, SQL-packages are in libraries named
R3SIDsomething.

On the other hand, OSS-note 530392 explains how a specific SQL-
package (QSQXDPKG) residing in library QSYS might get deleted (as a
result of deleting SQL-packages after applying PTFs).
It almost sounds as if you should make a back-up of this particular
SQL-package before doing a DLTR3PKG.

There seems to be a contradiction: if DLTR3PKG deletes SQL-packages
from libraries called R3SIDsomething, SQL-packages in QSYS should be
safe.

Have I misunderstood something?

(We are using R/3 Rel 4.0B on OS/400 V5R2.)
