HI Reto,
normaly you can load the kernel and ignore the PTF messages (if your system
has not e very old fix-level).
But the better way is to have the IBM fixes installed that are listed in
the Info Apar.
Some times you can run into trouble if the fixes are not installed.
With the non loading PTF I would try to delet this PTF and downlaod it
again from IBM either by ECS or Internet.
Perhaps you will have a look if you have installled the latest CUM tape
listed in the Info Apar

Dear fellow sufferer,
i would like upgrade the kernel from 1643 to 1684.
In the upgrade process i get the message that I need the PTF SI06596
and the new SF99501.
What it do, if I don't update the PTF and the SF file on the AS.
Could it be, that I get some error ? What kind of effects could I
get ?
The SI06596 its on my Box, but I could't load the PTF. If I would
like, I get the message "PTF 5722SS1-SI06596 V5R1M0 not loaded" and "
PTF list not correct " I've still reload the PTF but it din't work !
There some other people with the same issues, What kind of effects
could it get ?
