I asked one of my colleague how we do. He say:
For finance transactions we use the create index function, which allows you
to search for archived transactions directly from the standard R3
transaction (FB03)
For material documents we do not use the index function, since it creates
so much data. There you have to use the special transactions sari or al01.
The index flag is in the customising transaction SARA for each archiving
object

Hi group,
some SAP application have the option archive there data.
But after archiving, the data only can be searched and view by the
archiving transaction SARA or the infosystem and not out of the
application.
This for example in the material bills or a lot of transactions out of the
logistics as I'm told.
Do some one know a solution or add on software which solves this problem,
so that archived data can be viewed out of the normal SAP transaction, fo
example by using user exits.
