DB and app instance in the same server?

We are migrating our 3 tier SAP system (db-s40 and apps 3 sb1s) to a 2 tier
environment (870).

We will need to have around 100 work processes, however we are still in 31I
and there is a limit to have only 69 total wp per instance. The 870 has all
the power to handle more than one instance, but it does not have LPAR
partitions.

I know that I can install more than one SAP system in one server, but do you
know if I can install PRD DB and app in the same server (no partitions)?
