Functionality
Value scales and quota scales are used to calculate the default values for distributing the total quantity of a generic material among the individual variants.
You can define several quota scales for the one characteristic. If you do, you have to select one of the quota scales, whereby the system provides you with various options.
If the selection criteria are not enough, you can activate this user exit to set up quota scale determination based on various organizational data. The organizational data is passed on to the user exit at runtime. The data passed on includes:
- Data on the variant-creating characteristic
- Material number and material group of the generic material
- Number of the plant to which the generic material is to be sent
- Internal table with all the quota scales available
The user exit then selects one of the quota scales based on this information and returns it to the requesting program (together with the associated value scale). The user exit can then read and analyze further information than may seem be useful.

Notes
Quota scale determination has already been set up in the system on the plant/material group level. This will meet most of your requirements.
