Overview

With this enhancement you can increase the number of fields that are available in the SAP standard system for a component variant (PVS variant, assembly head/item, ...). These fields are edited during iPPE maintenance in a specific screen.

Customer specific fields for the variant are not evaluated in additional enterprise areas (such as requirements planning, or production).

For this enhancement you maintain the function exits and screen area components.

The prerequisites for this enhancement are already implemented in the SAP standard system.

Activities in the ABAP/4 Development Workbench.

You do not have to modify the table of basic data for the variant (PVCMPD). The table contains an Include-Structure, which is automatically filled with your enterprise specific fields. You maintain the following Include-Structure for the variant: CI_PVCMPD.

In the ABAP/4 Development Workbench you must do the following:

  • Maintain the data elements for the enterprise specific fields as a dictionary object.
Note the filed namespace reserved for customers.
  • Finally, maintain the Include-Structure for the database table PVCMPD (Dictionary Object: Structures; Structure: CI_PVCMPD).
  • Enter the new enterprise specific fields.

  • Activate the Include-Structure. The enterprise specific fields are automatically added to the 'new standard' when the release is upgraded.

Procedure

  1. If you want to maintain enterprise specific fields for the variant in your project, assign the enhancement PPECMP02 to your project.
  2. Display the enhancement components. The following overview shows the components for the variant overview enhancement, which the system automatically assigns:

Function exits: EXIT_SAPLPVSUICMP_002 customer fields to customer program

EXIT_SAPLPVSUICMP_004 customer fields to SAP program

  1. Edit the individual components.
  • Code the function exit EXIT_SAPLPVSUICMP_002 to transfer the data from the SAP application to the screen area.

  • Code the function exit EXIT_SAPLPVSUICMP_004 to transfer the data from the screen area to the SAP application.

  • Create the screen area.

  1. Activate the enhancement in the initial screen of transaction CMOD

When you activate the enhancement, iPPE is generated again so that the call is active.
