String length must be an integer constant

Message Long Text :

Cause . . . . . : A syntax error was found in the statement. A character variable name was entered on either a DEF or a DIM statement with the length missing, or a variable name was given for the length. An asterisk (*) was entered but an integer length was not.
Recovery . . . : Specify a length from 1 to 255 after the asterisk for the character variable or function name.
