Invalid G or N decimal digits

Message Long Text :

Cause . . . . . : A syntax error was found in the statement. A FORM statement was entered with a G (general) or N (numeric) format specification that contains an invalid decimal digits entry. The decimal digits entry can be less than or equal to 31 and may not exceed the field length.
Recovery . . . : Supply a decimal digits entry which is less than or equal to 31 and which does not exceed the field length.
