Data not valid on a CHA to HEX move or compare.

Message Long Text :

Cause . . . . . : The statement moves a data item defined as CHA to a data item defined as HEX or compares a CHA data item and a HEX data item. To successfully run, the values in the CHA data item must be a character representation of the HEX value. The following characters are valid:
a b c d e f A B C D E F 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
One or more of the characters in the CHA item is not of this set. Application processing ends.
Message CAE0021, issued when the application ended, gives the number of the statement causing the error.
Recovery . . . : Contact the application developer to correct this problem.
Technical description . . . . . . . . : Change the application so the CHA item contains valid HEX representation prior to the CHA to HEX move or compare. If the data is from a map field, use a map item edit to make sure the input is correct.
