Message : CPI096E
Disk unit connection is missing.

Message Long Text :

Cause . . . . . : The system has detected that some connections to a disk unit are missing. The storage unit with serial number &10 has multiple connections to the system. The system expected &9 connections to the disk unit but found &8. Data has not been lost.
The following information identifies the disk unit:
Disk serial number &10
Disk type &3
Disk model &4
Recovery . . . : Do the following:
1. Start the System Service Tools (STRSST) and use the Hardware service manager service tool to examine the Packaging hardware resources for the disk unit identified. Examine the identified disk unit and identify the connections which have reported. Compare that list of reported connections to the Hardware Resources Configuration printout, collected when the Enterprise Storage Subsystem (ESS) was originally configured, and identify the missing connections.
2. Verify that the cable is still connected between the system and the ESS.
3. Determine if the disk unit or ESS configurations have changed. Contact your service representative if the configurations have not changed.
4. If the configuration has changed, use the Hardware service manager service tool to reset the paths for the disk unit identified. A function key to reset the paths is found in the Disk Unit System listed under the Packaging Hardware Resources selection.
