Message : CPI8E06
Line &23 threshold information.
Message Long Text :
Cause . . . . . : One of the following may have caused the problem:
-- Modems and automatic calling equipment may be turned off.
-- The modem may not be properly grounded.
-- The environment may be electrically noisy (very low probability)
Recovery . . . : You may choose to ignore this message if you have been successful in establishing a switched connection. If the automatic calling equipment is not turned on, turn it on. Consult the modem manufacturer to determine the proper grounding technique to use. Refer to the IBM Systems Hardware Information Center Planning information for information about electrical requirements and noise problem considerations. The threshold function may be turned off or changed in the threshold (THRESHOLD) parameter on the CRTLINSDLC command. To report the problem, start problem analysis (ANZPRB command).
Technical description . . . . . . . . : For V.25 modems, this error indicates that the data-line-occupied (DLO) signal is missing or is dropped often enough during call attempts to cause a threshold error. The DLO circuit is activated by the automatic call unit (ACU) as the result of the communications adaptor activating the Call Request to the ACU. For V.25 bis modems this error indicates that the clear to send (CTS) signal is missing or is dropped often enough during call attempts to cause a threshold error. The CTS circuit is activated by the automatic call unit as the result of the communications adaptor activating DTR.
