Cause . . . . . : One of the following may have caused the problem:
-- The modem may not be properly grounded.
-- The environment may be electrically noisy (very low probability).
-- For V.25 bis modems the communications controller may have too many lines active at the same time.
Recovery . . . : You may choose to ignore this message if you have been successful in establishing a switched connection. Consult the modem manufacturer to determine the proper grounding technique to use. An electrically noisy environment may be causing this problem. Refer to the IBM Systems Hardware Information Center Planning information for information about electrical requirements and noise problem considerations. The threshold function may be turned off or changed in the threshold (THRESHOLD) parameter on the CRTLINSDLC command. To report the problem, start problem analysis (ANZPRB command).
Technical description . . . . . . . . : For the V.25 modem, the automatic call unit (ACU) activates abandon-call-retry by indicating that a connection to the remote station cannot be made. In the case of this error, abandon-call-retry has been detected many times and caused a threshold error. For V.25 bis modems, the communications controller was not able to send all of the dial digits to the modem.
