Definition

This object enables you to restrict access to delivery documents or delivery requirements. The authorization object is used for the following documents:

  • Inbound delivery notification
  • Inbound delivery
  • Outbound delivery request
  • Outbound delivery order
  • Outbound delivery
  • Posting change request
  • Posting change
  • Internal stock transfer

An authorization check for this object is carried out when you

  • Create or add items (activity '01')
  • For special cases the authorization is also granted if activity 23 (maintain) is assigned. For details of this concept see below.

  • Create or add items by copying a predecessor document (activity '92')
  • Change (activity '02')
  • For special cases the authorization is also granted if activity 23 (maintain) is assigned. For details of this concept see below.

  • Display (activity '03')
  • Delete (activity '06')
  • Release a GTS lock for outbound delivery order and outbound delivery (activity '43')
  • Special handling for activity "maintain" (23).
In several specific cases, for example during a WT confirmation, also the corresponding deliveries get updated or even created (in case of exception codes). In order to do this usually such a user would require the activities 01 and 02 (create and change). But this would also mean that such a user could also directly create or change deliveries in the delivery UIs (e.g. transaction /SCWM/PRDI, /SCWM/PRDO,...). This is often not wanted. Instead it is usually wanted (e.g. for warehouse workers who just should confirm or create WTs), that "indirect" changes on the deliveries so from non delivery UIs should be possible. For this purpose the activity 23 (maintain) is designed. If it is assigned to a user, this user has the authorization for 01 and 02, but only in cases where these activities are not directly done in core delivery UIs. So such a user could confirm a WT (and so update the delivery), but he could not change a delivery in e.g. /SCWM/PRDI. So for such cases you could assign activity 23 instead of 01 and 02 to such a user (when only indirect delivery updates and creations are required).

The authorization check is also carried out when you create a warehouse task, since the corresponding delivery is changed as a result.
