Definition

This object enables you to restrict access to delivery documents or delivery requirements. The authorization object is used for the following documents:

  • Inbound delivery notification
  • Inbound delivery
  • Outbound delivery request
  • Outbound delivery order
  • Outbound delivery
  • Posting change request
  • Posting change
  • Internal stock transfer

An authorization check for this object is carried out when you

  • Create or add items (activity '01')
In special cases, this authorization is also granted if activity 23 (maintain) is assigned. For the details of this concept, see below.
  • Create or add items by copying a predecessor document (activity '92')
  • Change (activity '02')
In special cases, this authorization is also granted if activity 23 (maintain) is assigned. For the details of this concept, see below.
  • Display (activity '03')
  • Display Change Documents (activity '08')
  • Delete (activity '06')
  • Release a GTS lock for outbound delivery order and outbound delivery (activity '43')
  • Special handling for activity "maintain" (23).
In some specific cases, for example during WT confirmation, the corresponding deliveries are also updated or created (if there are exception codes). In order to do this, a user would normally require the activities 01 and 02 (create and change). But this would mean that the user could also directly create or change deliveries in the delivery UIs (for example in the transactions /SCWM/PRDI or /SCWM/PRDO). This is often not wanted. Instead, such as when warehouse workers should be able to confirm or create WTs but not deliveries, it should only be possible for "indirect" changes to be made to the deliveries, meaning that the changes should only be made in non-delivery UIs. Activity 23 (maintain) is designed for this purpose. If it is assigned to a user, this user has the authorization for activities 01 and 02, but only in cases where these activities are not done directly in core delivery UIs. Such a user could confirm a WT (and so update the delivery), but he could not change a delivery in /SCWM/PRDI, for instance. In such cases, you can assign activity 23 instead of activities 01 and 02 to the user (when only indirect delivery updates and creations are required).

The authorization check is also carried out when you create a warehouse task, since the corresponding delivery is changed as a result.
