Definition

This authorization object is used in SAP archiving programs to protect the access to archive files as well as the change mode for the archive management list (transaction SARA, choose Administration).

For user development of archiving programs:
This authorization object is checked in the following function modules:

• ARCHIVE_OPEN_FOR_WRITE (create an archive file)

• ARCHIVE_OPEN_FOR_DELETE (start delete program)

• ARCHIVE_OPEN_FOR_MOVE (reload in database)

• ARCHIVE_OPEN_FOR_READ (read and analyze archive files)

Defined fields

• APPLIC Name of application area, for example, FI, BC, CO, ...

• ARCH_OBJ Name of archiving object, for example, FI_DOCUMNT, ...

• ACTVT Activities for archiving object and application area

• 01 Everything is allowed:
  Create archives (ARCHIVE_OPEN_FOR_WRITE)
  Start delete program (ARCHIVE_OPEN_FOR_DELETE)
  Reload (ARCHIVE_OPEN_FOR_MOVE)
  Read and evaluate archives (ARCHIVE_OPEN_FOR_READ)
  Change mode in archive administration

• 02 Change mode in archive management

• 03 Read and analyze archives (ARCHIVE_OPEN_FOR_READ) as well as display mode in archive management

• 48 Execute archiving programs (write, delete, reload, and convert) in test mode
