Short text

Changes to cluster tables have no effectt
Tip-No.: 1983

Symptom

Modifications to log. tables in clusters are lost.

Cause

Error caused in deferred writing of the cluster interface
(dbrclu2.c).
Internal cluster interface: interface buffers all cluster entries,
but only writes them if necessary (always at COMMIT
(db_rcflush/dbrcfl2-()) or when forced out of the cluster buffer
(c2_write_to_db()). In the DB, a physical cluster is broken into a
row of blocks. In c2_write_to_db() the blocks are inserted according to
the situation, or overwritten or deleted. RSQL is used to delete.
Error in c2_write_db(): to delete via RSQL, RSQL control blocks must be
handed over, including the link field list. The list handed over was
that for the current cluater table, but not necessarily for the cluster
table whose entry should be written (or deleted). This caused the error.
When COMMIT made, the db_rcflush() error was previously ignored. Result:
changes were ignored (without message warning of such).

Solution

==> B11K004684 (every buffered cluster runs its own bind field list),
avaialble from 1.1E onwards.
