Converting from Type P to Type N
Tip-No.: 815
Symptom
After a MOVE from a Type P field into a Type N field, the signs
and/or decimal places have disappeared.
Cause
Type N recognizes neither sign nor decimal places.
At a MOVE from Type P to Type N, the sign is ignored, the decimal places
are rounded up and removed.
Solution
Do not use Type N if signs and decimal places are required.
Instead, use Type I, P, or F.
