Short text

Buffer synchronization of local systems
Tip-No.: 902

Symptom

Updates, Inserts and Deletes on tables that are buffered and performed
via an updater, that does NOT belong to the System, lead to an outdated
buffer content.

The same applies to DB changes in BUFFERED tables, that are performed
by other application servers.

Cause

The buffers are synchronized system-independently, however, the
actualization of the local buffer is performed with a time delay.

Solution

The synchronization of the local buffer is asynchronous.

At given time intervals, the individual systems attempt, assisted by
information from the DB, to implement in their own systems the changes
that have occurred in the systems since the last update.

The interval between two synchronizations can be set up via the profile
with parameter bufreftime (in seconds).
