SAP Customs Management - Logistics Integration (Enhanced)

Use

As of Release 7.0 of SAP Global Trade Services (SAP GTS), you can make use of the enhanced integration of processes in SAP GTS with the logistics processes in mySAP Enterprise Resource Planning(mySAP ERP).

SAP GTS supports the following processes:

  • Blocking of subsequent processes in the feeder system for goods in temporary storage
While goods are in temporary storage, they cannot be transferred into any processes that follow the goods receipt. With SAP GTS and its integration in mySAP ERP 2005, you can map in the feeder system the blocking and unblocking of these goods in temporary storage. You can do this with a new status in the inbound delivery. This status prevents the receipt process from continuing until the release notification is received from the customs authorities. Once the release notification has been received, you can perform the subsequent processes for the goods receipt in the feeder system.
  • Discharge of presentation if transit procedure is discharged early by a third party
If a freight forwarder or other third party discharges a transit procedure early, the customs authorities send you the safekeeping notification. When this happens, the system automatically creates a customs shipment in SAP GTS. The customs transaction and the logistics documents have to be linked in the feeder system for the subsequent processes and process monitoring. With SAP GTS, you can link these.
  • As before, integration with logistics allows you to cover the bonded warehouse processes that you can use with Release 7.0 of SAP Global Trade Services. This includes the transfer of relevant inventory management data from the feeder system and the evaluation of this data in SAP GTS.
For more information on the integrated bonded warehousing processes, see the release information SAP Customs Management - Customs Procedures with Economic Impact: Bonded Warehousing and Inward Processing (New).

Logistics integration provides the business advantages of reduced time and costs and error reduction through:

  • Automatic control for warehouse stock in temporary storage
  • No need to maintain data due to the copying of billing document and delivery data/document data from the feeder system
  • Process-dependent data transfer from documents in the feeder system (for example, if there are various goods receipt scenarios)
