/CWM/CM_3: Functions in the Delivery (LE-SHP) and Transfer Orders (LE-WM) Area (New)

Use

As of SAP Enhancement Package 6 for SAP ECC 6.0, Industry Extension Catch Weight Management (IS-CWM 606), the CWM, Repetitive Manufacturing and Additional Processes (/CWM/CM_3) business function is available.

Default quantities in delivery and transfer orders

There was no default logic for delivery quantities and parallel delivery quantities to date. The system now calculates a default for a new parallel delivery quantity when you change the delivery quantity. To do this, the system uses either the current average weights from the unrestricted-use stock or the plan conversion factor from the material master, depending on the type of data already defined for the delivery item.

If you change the entry quantity (quantity or unit of measure) or the parallel entry quantity (quantity or unit of measure) for a catch weight material for transfer orders in WM, the system now calculates a default for the respective other related entry quantity.

From SAP Enhancement Package 6, the system calculates the default logic depending on the data entered by the user:

  • If an assignment to existing inventories is possible, the system determines a conversion factor from the unrestricted-use stock.
  • If no assignment to existing inventories is possible due to insufficient entries being made by the user (meaning the Plant entry is missing), the system determines the default value as previously by using the plan conversion factor from the material master.

This new default logic is delivered as fallback implementation of BAdI Default Data Logic for Quantities in Different Application Components (/CWM/MAIN_QUAN_PRPSL_EHP5). Alternatively, the user can if necessary implement a separate logic for detemining the default value for quantities.

Similarly new for the default logic is that the default quantity is calculated independently of the dimension of the base unit of measure (logistics unit of measure). The system proposes the corresponding quantity in an alternative unit of measure for a quantity change in logistics unit of measure. However, if you change the alternative unit of measure, the system does not calculate a new default for the logistics unit of measure.

The following ERP transactions have been adaptetd for Catch Weight Management:

  • Create Outbound Delivery with Order Reference (transaction VL01N)
  • Create Outbound Delivery Without Order Reference (transaction VL01NO)
  • Change Outbound Delivery (transaction VL02N)
  • Create Inbound Delivery (transaction VL31N)
  • Change Inbound Delivery (transaction VL32N)
  • Confirm Transfer Order (Single Item): In One Step (transaction LT11)
  • Confirm Transfer Order (Single Document): In One Step (transaction LT12)
  • Confirm Transport Order (Single Items for Storage Unit): In One Step (transaction LT13)

Weight determination for Catch Weight materials

With the previous logic for calculating the tare weight, the system used the gross and net weight defined in the material master in the basic data 1, related to the base unit of measure. There is now an additional logic that accesses the gross weights for the alternative logistics units of measure in the Additional Data screen (Units of Measure tab) of the material master. This means you can now calculate the gross weight in a delivery more realistically, as in a non-CWM system.

If the prerequisites for the new logic are missing, the system automatically accesses the old logic.

If gross weights for alternative logistics units of measure exist, and you select the Fixed Tare field in basic data 1, the system does not make the tare weight calculation in a linear way, but for each whole number change to this quantity adds the complete related tare weight.

Support for parallel quantities in IDoc /CWM/DELVRY07

IDoc /CWM/DELVRY07 is available to you for exchanging delivery information using the ALE interface. This is a copy of IDOC DELVRY07 and additionally supports parallel quantities for the delivery items and in the handling units. If the delivery contains catch weight materials, you can now exchange delivery data between the systems with the IDoc.

Effects on Existing Data

The CWM adaptation means:

  • You can continue to use non-catch weight materials as in a non-catch weight system.
  • +For catch weight materials, you can process and display quantities in parallel unit of measure in the new functions.
