User Friendliness in Customs Management (Changed / Enhanced)

Use

Starting in SAP Global Trade Services 10.0, you can use the changed menu navigation in Customs Management. The menu navigation is based on the separation of the various application areas within Customs Management and replaces the previous control concepts for the "Customs Processing Service" and "Transit Procedure Service". Each of the application areas has documents for the various customs processes, which the system can fill with data from the feeder systems and which you can use to start activities for processing with the customs authorities.

Customs Management includes the following application areas:

Application Area Goods Direction Previously Covered by Service New Menu Entry

Customs declaration Import/export Customs procedures Import or Export or Special Procedures
Customs delivery Import Customs processing Import
Presentation Import Transit procedure Import
Customs shipment Inbound/outbound Transit procedure Import or Export
Customs bill of lading Import n/a
Internal customs transaction Import Customs processing Import or Export or Special Procedures
Advance declaration Import n/a Import
Excise duty monitoring Inbound/outbound n/a Excise duty monitoring

The new application areas help improve clarity in the user interface and simplify processing for users. Since the application areas allow clear delimitation of the process-specific needs, the documents of an application area contain the exact document fields that are needed for the process.

In addition to the new entry points in the area menu and the simplification of the document UI, you can can also navigate directly between document processing and the relevant views for master data, classification, and system monitoring.

Effects on Customizing

The changes to the control concept have no effect on existing Customizing settings. With the introduction of the application areas, you can use the modified Customizing structure to configure new processes and adapt existing ones. For more information, see the Release Note Structural Change in Customizing (Changed ).
