Standard value calculation: New and changed functions

Description

This release note describes those functions in CAPP (standard values calculation) that are new or have changed for Release 3.0.

1. Function process text generation active

It was already possible in Release 2.2 to save a text within the process and to set the indicator Text generation. These entries are used to generate a process text. That means that the values entered or calculated for the characteristics appear in the process text.

The screen Sub-calculations shows the key T (Text generation). It indicates whether a process text for a sub-calculation is to be generated and if so how.

There are the following possibilities:

• 0: No text has been saved in the process

• 1: The system has generated the process text

• 2: The process text exists but no text was replaced by text symbols

• 3: The process text exists but the indicator Text generation in the process is not set.

If you want to display a process text which has been generated you should proceed as follows:

On the screen Sub-calculations select the menu options Edit -> CAPP texts and

• -> Text per sub-calc., if you want to display the process text for a sub-calculation.

• -> Text per operation, if you want to display the text for an operation.

When they are displayed the individual sub-calculations are separated
by lines maintained in CAPP Customizing and which have the indicator Active. The relevant number appears above each sub-calculation.

1. CAPP standard values calculation order creation

The following indicators and keys are new and can be used in the task list to determine whether a CAPP standard values calculation is to be carried out on order creation and if so how:

• On the screen Header Details you can use the key CAPP prod. order to specify that standard values are to be recalculated when an order is created and for which order category this is to be done. Here you have the choice between the order categories "production order" and "planned order" or a calculation independent of order category. The link between the CAPP standard values calculation and the planned order is planned for a later release.

If you have used the key CAPP prod. order to specify that a standard values calculation is to be carried out then you must also maintain the key CAPP prod. order on the screen Operation Details.

If there are standard values in the task list which have been calculated already and

• if you have maintained the key CAPP prod. order then the existing data is recalculated when an order is created and if necessary updated for the order. The data in the task list remains unaffected by this

• if you have not maintained the indicator CAPP prod. order then the data already maintained in the task list is transferred to the order.

• On the screen Operation Details you can use the key CAPP prod. order to specify whether the CAPP standard values calculation for this operation is to be carried out online or in the background. The key CAPP prod. order is only taken into account if the key CAPP prod. order is maintained on the screen Header Details.

With planned orders the calculation always takes place in the background even if the key CAPP prod. order does indicates a calculation online.

• On the screen Operation Details the display indicator CAPP text created shows that a CAPP process text was generated for the operation.

1. Link to configuration

For Release 3.0 the CAPP standard values calculation is linked to the configuration. In this way it is possible to calculate CAPP standard values when an order is created for configurable operations as well. The procedure is as follows:

• The production order is created for a material with reference to a sales order number

• characteristics are evaluated for

• selecting bills of materials and task lists

• calculating CAPP standard values

• the system picks out operations on the basis of characteristic evaluation

• The result of the CAPP standard values calculation for the operations is displayed on the operation overview.

1. Extended entry tool for origin "table"

The following entry tools were developed for the characteristic origin "table" used when maintaining the characteristic structure in a method:

• If you press the function key F4 when the cursor is on Object and you have previously entered a table the system displays the name of the table entered.

• If you press the function key F4 when the cursor is on Field and you have previously entered a field name the system displays the name of the field entered.

• If you press the function key F4 when the cursor is on Field and you have entered a table name but no field name then the names of the fields in the table are shown in a list.
