Improved Performance in Product Cost Controlling

Description

To reduce runtimes, parallel processing has been made available for additional functions in Product Cost Controlling. In parallel processing, objects are not processed one after the other on one application server, but instead processed in parallel on one or more application servers.

Parallel processing is now available for the following functions in the period-end closing process in Cost Object Controlling:

Revaluation of activities at actual activity prices (starting with 4.0A)

Distribution of actual costs for cost object hierarchies (starting with 4.0B)

Distribution for co-products (function and parallel processing available starting with 4.5A)

Settlement (starting with 4.5A)

You activate parallel processing for the above functions in collective processing by entering a server group in the maintenance of the job parameters for background processing. This group determines which application servers are used.

To create a server group:

Choose Tools -> Administration.

The screen System Administration appears.

Choose Administration -> Network -> RFC Destinations.

The screen Display and maintain RFC destinations appears.

Choose RFC -> RFC groups.

The screen CCMS: Maintain RFC Server Groups.

Create a server group.
