New features in the Treasury information system for 4.5A

Description

If you have updated your system directly from Release F3.0/3 or F3.0/4 to Release 4.5A, read also Release notes F3.0/4_TIS_1 and 4.0A_TIS_1.

  1. You can now also use the presentation tool "inSight" from the company "arcplan" to create Treasury reports. This enables you to use a variety of new presentation features (integrate graphics/lists, drag-and-drop, formatting, WWW, printing, ...)

  2. Treasury Management has been linked to SAP-EIS. This means that you can manage and store Treasury data which you have defined in EIS aspects, enabling you to represent a type of "position management" in EIS. The link to EIS allows you to do the following:
    1. Freely define information structure "Aspect"
    2. Represent position management
    3. Integrate external data (e.g. Real Estate)
    4. Integrate external data sources (e.g. R2, Oracle)
    5. Scale your operations (local < - - > global EIS)
    6. Use the planning module
    7. Link to external interfaces
    8. Freely define summarization levels

Treasury currently supports the following data sources:

      - Securities
      - Loans

  3. List output of Treasury data with ALV (SEC+LO)

You can now use the ABAP List Viewer (ALV) to output Treasury data that was previously only output using the drilldown reporting tool. The structures for doing this are largely similar to the TIS structures and are identical to the structures you would use for transferring data from TIS to EIS.

    Advantages:

    - all characteristics are together
    - the various currencies are listed together
    - you can freely define your own display variants

    Disadvantages:
    - there is no currency handling
    - there is no batch management
    - limited function compared to drilldown reporting
    - there is (as yet) no text for the characteristics
  4. Attributes

From 4.5A, the TIS has attributes in addition to characteristics and key figures. Attributes are a third module which are used for compiling forms and reports.

    Attributes:
Attributes are characteristics of objects which are uniquely assigned.

    Examples of attributes:
(see: Tools->Display structures in the Treasury Information System)

    Object: | SEC ID number |Transaction |Partner |
    -----------|----------------|----------------|---------------|
    Attributes:| Product cat. |Product cat. |Legal form |
    | Product type |Product type |Legal entity |
    | Security type |Partner |Nationality |
    | Classification |Start of term |Credit standing|
    | Stock category |End of term |Rating |
    | Start of term | |Country of BP |
    | End of term | | |
    | ... |... |... |

    Subdivision of attributes:

Attributes can be subdivided into two classes: Navigation attributes and display attributes.
    1. Navigation attributes:

You use these to navigate (drill down according to product type) and also to make selections (product type = mortgage loan). They are similar to existing characteristics with one exception: you can display them together with the superior object as follows:
ID number Sec. type Stock category ....
100432 Stock Bearer security ....

  1. Display attributes:

You cannot use these for navigation and selection. Like navigation attributes, you can display them together with the superior object. The advantage of this is that they do not need to be loaded by the applications affected (e.g. money market) when you select them. They are only read when they are actually displayed (which sometimes never occurs). This is done by a module, which is usually generated by the system. You will only need to use explicit programming in exceptional cases.

Display attributes enable the customer to extend the field selection without having to write any coding.
Example: You want to have attribute JMUENDEL (eligible as trustee stock indicator) available in the securities area, so that you can display it together with the ID number. To do this, you simply create one table entry. The system generates the necessary access to VWPANLA. (If this does not work because, for example, the new field in a table has a different coding structure, you can program the access to customer exit EXIT_SAPLFTIA_001 yourself, without making any changes (enhancement FTIAT001).
The SAP table for entering read data is not being extended. Fields, which are not relevant for the customer, are not displayed to the customer unless they are specifically requested.

    Advantages of display attributes:

    - lean SAP structures (no unnecessary fields)
    - efficient performance (only read what is really necessary)
    - no modifications needed (no intervention to SAP programs)
    - can be expanded by customer as required
    - export (e.g. to Excel) also works

    Disadvantages of display attributes:

    - no navigation via display attributes
    - no selection via display attributes

  1. The function "Display structures" enables you to display lists of information using the data sources available. You can also use it, for example, to quickly determine the key figures for the structure "Securities portfolio".
  2. The characteristics
    1. "Fiscal year"
    2. "Periods"

characteristic is also now available. This enables you to easily distinguish between incoming and outgoing payments.
  1. A seven-character period is available for selections for all fiscal years.
  2. You can now also freely select the characteristics "Posting date" and "Due date" in the report.
  3. Standard evaluations have been added to the report trees. The trees affected are:
    1. Loans

  4. Renaming the report types

The report types, which you find in the Information System, have been changed
