Mail System Group in Distributed R/3 Systems

Scope of Functions

New mail system group functions replace the remote SAPoffice function, which was very restricted. Whereas remote SAPoffice could only be used for documents that can be executed in the remote system, the mail system group can be used more widely. The following alternatives are available:

• Define an R/3 System as a central mail system

In this case, all messages from the other connected R/3 Systems are forwarded to this system.

• Use the mail system functions from multiple R/3 Systems

In this case, users receive their messages in the system where their home address is.
